A clean flame for hot-sculpting

Hot-sculpting

Cx5 and Cx5s are temperature sensitive materials that behave like clay when they are warm. An alcohol lamp is an indispensable tool for applying direct heat to any Cx5 or Cx5s sculpture. Once you have begun to rough out your sculpture, heat sections of it over an alcohol lamp to continue to add material. Heat ensures good cohesion between cool material and warm material. Heat your traditional metal tools over the lamp and use them on your sculpture.

Hot-sanding

An amazing technique for unifying the surface of your Cx5 or Cx5s sculpture is hot-sanding with a 3M sanding sponge heated over an alcohol lamp. Hot-sanding techniques are used for knocking down large areas of rough sculpture and also for smoothing in fine details.

The best wick

This wick is extra thick with an internal core to give you a bigger, brighter flame than most alcohol lamps. A bigger, more durable wick means the flame itself is larger and outputs more heat. This is the perfect lamp for heating areas of your Cx5 or Cx5s sculpture quickly and evenly.

Denatured alcohol

Use only denatured alcohol in your alcohol lamp. It is the only fuel that burns without soot. If you use other fuel, you will get soot on your sculpture and your tools.

Safety

Use the snuffer cap to put out the flame whenever it is not in use. Always have a fire extinguisher close by when working with open flames.

We ship worldwide using FedEx and USPS.

You can track FedEx shipments at www.fedex.com and USPS shipments at www.usps.com.

Please note: High sales volume for our current inventory means orders will be shipped as placed, and processing times will be longer than usual.

For domestic orders you can choose between USPS and FedEx rates, unless your order is over 70lbs and must be shipped FedEx or freight. You will receive an e-mail with a tracking number when your order ships.

For international orders you can also choose between USPS and FedEx rates, unless your order is over 70lbs and must be shipped FedEx or freight. ADVISORY TO INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: FedEx always provides reliable tracking, but the only USPS shipping option with reliable tracking outside of the United States is Priority Mail Express. You will not be able to reliably track USPS budget services like standard Priority Mail or First-Class Mail once your package leaves the United States, and Adam Beane Industries, Inc. cannot be responsible for packages lost overseas. We strongly advise FedEx or Priority Mail Express for international orders. Note: USPS Priority Mail Express is NOT currently available for shipments to Russia, Singapore or the Ukraine. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Contiguous US (lower 48 states): We offer shipping via FedEx and USPS. You will receive an e-mail with a tracking number for your package. We can deliver orders to P.O. Boxes, however we are not responsible for delays or mis-shipments when a P.O. Box address is used.
AK, HI, PR, and Guam: We cannot ship to P.O. Boxes.
Hotels: We do not ship to hotels, motels, inns, hostels, B&Bs, and/or timeshares because we cannot guarantee your package will be delivered during your stay.
Freight shipping: FedEx can ship packages up to 150lb. USPS can ship packages up to 70lb. We can offer freight shipments (anything over 70lbs) and can calculate exact shipping after packaging and weighing your order.

If you choose FedEx, your order will be delivered to you by FedEx.

APO/FPO Shipping

We are able to ship to U.S. Military APO/FPO addresses. Similar to international orders, FedEx always has reliable tracking, and for USPS only Express Mail has reliable tracking information outside of the contiguous USA. We will send an e-mail with a tracking number regardless of the shipping option you choose, but cannot guarantee the availability of tracking information if you select USPS.
